The Faculty of Economics is a center with full academic rights

Having the right to award Bachelor's, Master's, doctoral, postdoctoral degrees (habilitation) and conducting professorial proceedings. Candidates wishing to pursue higher education have the opportunity to gain extensive and thorough knowledge in the fields of: Economics, International Economic Relations (courses in Polish) and International Business, Logistics and Mobility (courses in English), as well as Chemical Business and Environmental Business and Technology (interdisciplinary courses in Polish).

 

In the second year of bachelor's studies and in the first year of master's studies, students choose an educational profile within 20 specialties, providing modern qualifications sought in the job market.

The knowledge and skills acquired during studies enable accurately formulating research questions, solving economic problems, making effective decisions, and facilitating the understanding of economic processes in Poland and worldwide. The studies provide professional preparation for operating in the international and domestic market under intense competition.

More than 3100 students study at the Faculty of Economics: about 2400 full-time students (in Polish and English), over 600 part-time students, 125 postgraduate students (in Polish and English), and 30 doctoral students in doctoral schools and postgraduate studies preparing for a doctoral degree.

The Faculty of Economics' strengths include internationalization and business collaboration

A rich offer of courses in foreign languages and the English-language specialty International Business. Students can benefit from study abroad opportunities within the ERASMUS+ program, with bilateral agreements signed with over 70 universities and colleges. They also have the opportunity to participate in student exchanges with: China, the USA, Japan, Korea, and Ukraine.
Thanks to the ERASMUS+ Partnership, they can turn their knowledge into practice abroad.

Students have access to extensive collections of the Main Library at the UG Campus and the Economic Library located opposite the faculty building, access to electronic databases of international and national scientific journals from many fields.

Studies are conducted in collaboration with business practitioners and organizations, with national and international research institutes, science and technology parks, and entrepreneurship incubators. Students benefit from training series, workshops with managers, internships, and study visits.

Modern infrastructure

The Faculty of Economics operates a computer lab LSEG Eikon Lab, providing access to the world's leading financial database, specialized logistics laboratory (Oracle, Aris), and a computer-based examination center accredited by ACCA.

Students of the Faculty of Economics also have at their disposal 8 computer labs, open computer stations with free internet access, and WIFI access throughout the Faculty. All lecture halls and classrooms are equipped with multimedia equipment.

Highest level educational offerings

Courses are conducted by a specialized academic and teaching staff according to global standards, covering: microeconomics, macroeconomics, world economy, quantitative economic methods (mathematics, mathematical economics, computer science, statistics, econometrics, accounting), international settlements, organization and management, business science, economic policy, civil law, commercial law, and a range of subjects individually tailored to specializations.
Study programs are updated and adjusted to the changing demands of economic practice.

The academic and teaching staff at the Faculty of Economics is employed in the Department of International Business, the Department of International Economics and Economic Development, the Department of Transport Economics, the Department of Economics and Operation of Transport Companies, the Department of Logistics, the Department of Macroeconomics, the Department of Microeconomics, the Department of Economic Policy, the Department of Transport Policy and Economic Integration, the Department of Transport Market, the Department of Maritime Transport and Trade, and the Department of Sustainable Market Processes.

Beyond classes, students actively participate in scientific circles and student organizations. They can also publish scientific articles in the dedicated publication "Student Notebooks of the Faculty of Economics."

Sopot has 3 dormitories for them, and a student buffet at the Faculty. Students can benefit from scientific, social, and sports scholarships.
